🌿 The Story Behind the Artwork
Still of the Night is a quiet tribute to the hidden past of the Hokonui Hills, once a refuge for bootleggers who brewed moonshine deep in the bush. The scene takes shape inside a glass flask, glowing with moonlight and mystery - a copper still, a watchful figure, a creek winding past scattered barrels. This drawing isn’t a literal retelling of history, but a glimpse into its atmosphere. It captures the hush of night, the flicker of firelight, and the ever-present moon standing guard overhead. A moment suspended in time, where the stillness carries whispers of the land’s untold stories.
