🌿 The Story Behind the Artwork
Inspired by Mitchells Gully Gold Mine on New Zealand’s West Coast, Forest Boot VI – Mining reflects on the meeting of human ambition and nature’s quiet resilience. In the 1860s, miners carved deep into the earth chasing gold, their tunnels echoing with effort and hope. Now, the forest has reclaimed those spaces, ferns unfurl through the ruins, roots wrap around rusted tools. What was once driven by fortune is now softened by time, a reminder that nature always endures.
