This piece was inspired by the unusually wet weather we’ve experienced, where even a familiar landscape can feel transformed by rain and mist. The drawing highlights the textures of the rugged shoreline, the reflective surface of the lake, and the resilience of wildlife enduring Fiordland’s wettest moods.
Rendered in ink, every detail of the rocks, trees, and ferns is carefully layered to evoke both the atmosphere of the storm and the serene beauty that persists through it.
