🌿 The Story Behind the Artwork
This Kakapo portrait was inspired by the remarkable resilience of one of New Zealand’s most endangered birds. Known for its large size, soft mossy-green feathers, and nocturnal habits, the Kakapo has captivated naturalists for centuries.
While drawing, I focused on the subtle textures of its plumage, the gentle curve of its beak, and the bright, curious eyes that reveal both intelligence and vulnerability. I wanted to capture not only its physical likeness but also the spirit of a bird that has survived against incredible odds. This artwork is a quiet tribute to conservation efforts and the hope that future generations may witness the Kakapo thriving in the wild.
