Forest Boot I
Forest Boot I is the first artwork in my boot series, where each well-worn boot becomes a vessel for the landscapes and memories gathered along the way.
The idea came to me while preparing to fly into a pest-free conservation island in Fiordland for work. Before every trip, boots and equipment must pass through strict quarantine to remove any seeds or soil that could threaten these fragile ecosystems. Looking at my boots, I began imagining the opposite: what if the seeds from my adventures were allowed to grow?
Inspired by the hike to Gertrude Saddle, this drawing transforms a worn boot into a living landscape of alpine vegetation, rock, and forest, a memory of one of Fiordland's most spectacular journeys.
Standard Art Print
Size: A4 (210 × 297 mm / 8.3 × 11.7 in)
Printed on quality 300gsm satin paper, ready to fit a standard A4 frame.
Each print is individually signed by the artist and carefully packaged in a protective sleeve with backing board.
