Forest Boot VI is part of my boot series, where each well-worn tramping boot becomes a vessel for the landscapes and stories gathered along the way.
This artwork was inspired by exploring historic gold mining sites on New Zealand's West Coast. Walking among the preserved tunnels, machinery, and relics of another era, it was easy to imagine the lives of those who once worked there and the landscapes that have slowly reclaimed these places over time.
Rather than depicting a single historic site, I imagined a mining boot revealing a hidden world within. A tunnel entrance leads to a small mining cart surrounded by native forest, bringing together the region's industrial past and the resilience of the natural landscape.

Printed on quality 300gsm satin paper, ready to fit a standard A4 frame.
Each print is individually signed by the artist and carefully packaged in a protective sleeve with backing board.
